CyberWatch West educational members can now apply for travel stipends to support their attendance of the 2018 Community College Cyber Summit (3CS), being held August 2–4 at Mt. Hood Community College just outside Portland, Oregon.

This year the three-day conference offers workshops and presentations in four tracks, for four different audiences:

  • Track 1: Colleges / faculty that are new to cybersecurity;
  • Track 2: Educators who are experienced at teaching cybersecurity and/or representatives of colleges that aspire to earn the CAE2Y designation;
  • Track 3: Educators looking to expand their expertise and transform their cybersecurity programs;
  • Track 4: Cybersecurity students

Students studying cybersecurity are also invited to participate in a pre-summit job fair on Thursday morning, August 2, and a National Cyber League (NCL) showcase and workshop on Thursday evening.

A limited number of travel stipends of up to $1000 each (depending upon applicant location) will be awarded to faculty members or instructors employed by CyberWatch West member institutions. To be considered, please complete and submit the online form below, before the end of the day on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Applicants will be notified by approximately May 9 whether or not they will receive a stipend. It's recommended that everyone planning to attend 3CS register on or before May 18, in order to receive the early bird discount.

After the conference, accepted applicants will be required to submit a completed W-9 IRS form and two written paragraphs, describing what they learned at 3CS, before their travel stipends will be issued to them.

NOTE: As of May 2, 2018, applications for travel stipends are no longer being accepted.
