About Student Development:

Led by Co-PI Daniel Manson (Cal Poly Pomona), CyberWatch West's student development activities enable students to gain relevant experience, compete for awards, and network with other students, faculty, and industry professionals. This will be achieved though the creation of new student clubs emphasizing information assurance, student involvement with information assurance professional organizations, student internships in information assurance, and a cyber-defense league for community colleges and high schools in the CyberWatch West region. Dr. Manson will work closely with other Co-PIs to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach throughout California and the Pacific Northwest.

Competitions:

CyberWatch West offers several opportunities for High School, 2-Year and 4-Year College Students to complete in cybersecurity. CyberWatch West sponsors three college-level student competitions annually and two high school competitions for high school students to compete.

K-12 Outreach:

CyberWatch West is dedicated in providing information awareness inK-12 faculty and students by proving workshop for security awareness training and competitions for students

Student Organizations:

CyberWatch West student organizations offer guest speakers in the forefront of their respected cybersecurity fields. CyberWatch West offers workshops to teach students the importance of information assurance. We also host competitions to give students the opportunities to compete and enter the world of cybersecurity.

Professional Organizations and Internships:

CyberWatch West is working with various professional organizations and industry partners in the computer security field to offer insight and training for students through guest speakers, workshops, competitions, and internships.
